LINks (Local Involvement Networks) were started in England in April 2008 to give residents and communities a strong voice in shaping how their health and social care services are provided.LINks can find out what people want, monitor local services and use LINk powers to hold health and adult social care service providers to account.   

H&F LINk considers all residents, workers, and service users in Hammersmith and Fulham to be potential active participants of the LINk, and all can take part in involvement activities if they  wish, whether registered with H&F LINk or not.

Those who wish to be contacted directly by H&F LINk can register by completing an H&F LINk Expression of Interest Form to let us know how you wish to be involved.

• To be called upon to take part in consultations; focus groups; surveys; consultations and steering and working groups organised by statutory Health and Adult Social Care Commissioners / Provider
• To help gather and provide evidence for LINk priority issues for 2010/11
• Get involved via the forums, networks and organisations you already are taking part in
• Increase your knowledge relating to health and social care rights and responsibilities (access training and conferences to improve ability to understand, scrutinise, challenge and contribute to appropriate provision of health and social care).

Who manages and supports H & F LINk?

Hammersmith and Fulham LINk is supported by a steering group consisting of individuals and representatives of local groups and organisations. The LINk Steering Group was elected at the LINk Annual General Meeting in November 2009. For effective decision making, the LINk Steering Group will co-opt people with knowledge and expertise in a specific area as and when needed.

The role of the LINk Steering Group is to decide how the funding for LINk activity is spent, how it is run and what priorities to concentrate on.

The role of the Host organisation is to support the LINk to tell the community about what it is doing and how to get involved, provide office support and help.The Host for H&F LINk is Hestia Housing and Support.
